The mental health crisis in the United States continues to be a major concern. October 10th, we observe World Mental Health Day. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to bring awareness to mental health illnesses and bring attention to resources to help cope with them.
Financial well-being can impact nearly all areas of your life including your mental health.
According to a study done by the Financial Health Network, “many American families are living under severe financial constraints, with 29% reporting that they are unable to pay their bills on time and 29% reporting unmanageable levels of debt,”.
Furthermore, research scientist, Oscar Jimenez-Solomon, of the New York Psychiatric Institute, says, “studies show that people who have difficulty repaying their debts and have a high number of debts have a significantly greater risk of mental health illnesses.”
For those who are struggling with financial hardship, creating a concrete plan of action could be helpful. That’s where we come in!
